If you are at least 21 years old and have held a Category B driving licence for three years, please read on.
How do I apply to become a driving instructor?
In Finland, you can train to become a driving instructor at two different institutions: in Jyväskylä or Hämeenlinna.
The training programme lasts 1.5–2 years, depending on the individual’s personal development plan (HOKS).
Structure of the course
The course comprises theoretical and practical modules undertaken at the training centre, work experience at a driving school, and the completion of practical assessments.
By completing two optional modules in addition to the compulsory ones, you will be awarded a specialist vocational qualification. Depending on your choice, you can specialise in areas such as motorcycle instruction, moped instructor training, or professional transport driver training.
Epic – The Trainee Path
At the start of the work placement, we draw up a structured placement plan for each participant. The plan consists of four stages and is designed to lead to an employment contract.
Is the internship paid?
Once you have passed the first assessment (2.1), we will pay you a trainee’s wage (85% of the standard rate). We will pay you the full wage once you have passed the second assessment (2.2).
What are the prospects of finding a job after the work placement?
Our trainee programme is designed so that, once you have completed your vocational qualification, you will be employed at the branch of your choice.
