How to pay for your driving lessons with Epic – all payment methods explained

A driving licence is one of life’s most significant purchases – and often a surprisingly expensive one at that. That’s why we want to make the payment process as flexible as possible. Whether you prefer to pay in one go, use Klarna or opt for an interest-free invoice, we have an option to suit every situation.

On this page, we explain all the payment options in plain language so you don’t have to guess.

What payment methods are available?

All payment options are selected on the registration form when purchasing the course. There are four options:

Payment methodAvailable balance
Klarna (online banking, card, 30 days or instalments)Right away
Apple Pay / Google PayRight away
Card or online banking paymentRight away
Epic invoice (1, 2 or 4 instalments)After payment has been made

Klarna – the most flexible way to pay

Klarna is the most popular choice, and for good reason: it’s fast, secure and offers the widest range of options.

With Klarna, you can choose:

  • Online banking payment — traditional and fast
  • Card payment — by debit or credit card
  • Pay within 30 days — if you want to think it over before the money is debited
  • Pay in instalments — split the amount into smaller payments to suit your needs

When you pay via Klarna, your balance is available straight away – you can book driving lessons and start your course without having to wait a single day.

Klarna also carries out credit checks for instalment payments independently. There is no need to provide Epic with any separate assurance.

Apple Pay and Google Pay — the quickest way to pay

We also offer mobile payments to students using the Streamways system:

  • Apple Pay on iPhone or Mac
  • Google Pay on Android devices

Payment is processed in seconds, confirmation is received straight away, and the balance is available immediately. If you want to start your training as soon as possible, this is the quickest route from signing up to your first driving lesson.

Epic Invoice – interest-free instalments with no credit check

If you don’t want to use Klarna or pay in full, the Epic invoice is an option that doesn’t require a credit check. The invoice is split into interest-free instalments based on the course price:

  • 1 session — course fee under €200
  • 2 sessions — course fee €200–500
  • 4 sessions — course fee over €500

A €5 billing fee is added to each invoice. A further €5 is charged separately for paper invoices sent by post – so it’s worth opting for an electronic invoice, which you can access directly via the Streamways app.

Please note the following when selecting an invoice:

  • At least 50% of the course fee must be paid before the first driving lesson (simulator lessons are also included in this calculation)
  • All fees must be paid before taking the driving test
  • The balance is updated as payments are recorded — not immediately

Cancellations and cancellation of driving lessons

Cancelling a course

You have 14 days from the date of your booking confirmation to cancel the course free of charge and without giving a reason. Please cancel by emailing: laskutus@epicautokoulu.fi

Please note: The 14-day cancellation period ends earlier if you log in to the learning environment or book theory or driving lessons before the deadline expires.

If you move to another town, you don’t need to interrupt your course – you can transfer it to your nearest Epic centre. The price will be adjusted in line with the new centre’s price list.

Cancelling a driving lesson

Driving lessons must be cancelled at least 24 hours before the lesson is due to start. We will charge a separate fee for lessons cancelled too late or not cancelled at all.

Falling ill is an exception: submit your sick note via Turvaposti within 14 days to ensure you receive a refund.

Frequently asked questions about invoicing

Do I need to have a good credit history if I want to pay the course fee in instalments?

You can split the payment into monthly instalments using an Epic invoice. No interest is charged for splitting the course fee with an Epic invoice, but a €5 invoicing fee will be added to each instalment.

You can choose to pay via Epic Invoice in interest-free monthly instalments based on the course price as follows:

1 instalment (course price under €200)
2 instalments (course price €200–€500)
4 instalments (course price over €500)

When paying by invoice, please note that 50% of the course fee must be paid before the first driving lesson (including simulator lessons) and that all instalments must be paid before taking the driving test.

Cancelling a driving lesson

Cancellation of a driving lesson must be made to your own instructor or the simulator control room by 12:00 on the working day preceding the lesson at the latest.

For lessons that are not cancelled, or are cancelled too late, we will be obliged to charge 50% of the lesson price in accordance with the terms of the contract.

Please note that the cancellation policy applies to all lessons, including simulator driving lessons.

In accordance with our terms and conditions, we can issue a credit note for an unused driving lesson or one cancelled too late. Please submit a sick note via the Turvaposti service within 14 days.
