Rescue College and C-card - What do students need to know?
Rescue studies appeal to many - and for good reason. However, one initial condition may surprise you: you must have a category C driving licence before you start your studies.
Why is a C-card required at the Rescue College?
The Rescue College requires that the selected student has a C driving licence at the latest by the start of the studies. This requirement applies to most rescue training programmes where vehicle handling and heavy equipment are part of everyday life. Please note that a C1 licence alone is not sufficient - a full C licence is required.
Age limit and special permit - can you start under 21?
The normal age limit for a C-card is 21 years, but as a student of rescue you can apply for a special permit to complete the course. You can apply for a special permit once your place has been confirmed. You must already have a valid B-card, as this is an upgrade of your driving licence category.
Where can I take my C-card?
Epic Autokoulu offers C driving licence training in several locations in Finland. In addition to professional instruction, the training includes the opportunity to practice driving with real vehicles and a simulator.
